Micromax has listed a new Android phone in the Bolt series on their official website, and it is the Micromax Bolt A61 which is now officially available through the Micromax online store and soon would be available on the other stores too, for the price of Rs. 4999. The smartphone coming with the entry-level specs, has got a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen and its the WVGA display having a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
The processor included in the Micromax Bolt A61 is a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7710 processor and this is backed by 256MB of RAM which is quite low and thus the multitasking support won’t be that great. This is a Dual SIM smartphone just like the various other Android smartphones from Micromax, and it supports the GSM + GSM network connectivity with the Dual standby. The Micromax Bolt A61 runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and it supports the 3G connectivity along with the other standard connectivity options.
Pre-loaded with a few apps such as Hike Messenger, Spuul, Opera Mini, Kingsoft Office Suite, the Bolt A61 has got two cameras, a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. The other connectivity options apart from 3G that is provided in the Bolt A61 includes the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB but there is no GPS locator. The internal storage provided in the smartphone is 512MB and the storage can be expanded to a maximum of 16GB with the MicroSD card support. One would have to spend some and add a memory card because the actual storage that would be available internally for the app installation is 135MB.
The battery included in the Micromax Bolt A61 has a capacity of 1500 mAh and that is said to provide around 3.5 hours of talktime and 160 hours of standby time.
