Micromax Bolt S302 & Bolt Q331 Budget-Friendly Smartphones Launched

With the festive season around Micromax, the second largest smartphone vendor of the country launched three new budget smartphones under its Bolt series called as Bolt S302, Bolt Q331, and Bolt Q338, priced at Rs. 3,199, Rs. 4,999, and Rs. 6,499 respectively. All the three smartphones comes with entry-level specifications and come pre-loaded with Firstouch, a translator app, that can translate the English language into their preferred language.

Commenting on the launch, Shubhajit Sen, CMO, Micromax Informatics, said, “Around 70-80 million Indians convert from their feature phones to smartphones every year, and more and more consumers will use a smartphone for their initial computing and Internet needs leapfrogging the PC and laptop generation. We believe that smartphones will play a significant role in meeting PM’s ‘Digital India’ vision to connect the next billion. Micromax, being a front runner in the sub 7.5k mass segment handsets, has taken a step ahead in its philosophy of democratizing technology to the masses and has come up with a special program to enable the consumers to take the next technological leap towards the smartphones from feature phones.”

The Bolt S302 features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) TFT display and comes powered by Spreadtrum (SC7715) single-core processor clocked at 1GHz. The device comes with 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion upto 32GB. It sports a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing shooter for selfie images.

The device has dual sim functionality and comes with basic connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port. The handset boasts a 1450mAh battery that can deliver upto 4 hours of talk time and upto 200 hours of standby time and runs on Android 4.4 out of the box.

The Bolt Q331 flaunts a 5-inch (480×854 pixels) IPS display and under the hood it comes powered by Spreadtrum (SC7731G) quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The handset runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and has 512MB RAM, 4GB onboard storage that is further expandable via microSD card slot upto 32GB.

It sports a 5MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2MP front shooter for selfie lovers. The device supports dual sim dual standby and comes with basic connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0. The handset comes backed by a 2000mAh battery that offers upto 6 hours of talk time and upto 200 hours of standby time and is available in Black color variant.
