Motorola Moto X Style and Moto X Play announced for $399 and $299 Respectively – Details

Motorola launched two new smartphones in its high-end Moto X series. The two devices Moto X Style and Moto X Play comes almost with the same design. Both run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box with no bloatware added.The high-end Moto X Style is priced at $399 and will be available from September while the Moto X Play will be on sale starting from August and is priced at $299. The Moto X Play will not be launched in US market hinting that it is targeted towards the price sensitive markets.

Both the devices sports the same 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash, while on the front it has 5MP selfie camera. The Moto X Style has a selfie flash include with the 5MP front camera while the Moto X Play misses it. The rear camera can record 4K videos at 30fps, 1080p videos at 60fps and slo-mo videos at 120fps.

The Moto X Style sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 3GB of RAM. There is three different storage option with 16GB/32GB/64GB along with micorSD card slot (up to 128GB). This same device will be dubbed as ‘Moto X Pure’ in the US.

The water repellent nano-coating makes the device splash-proof. There is a 3,000mAh with a turbocharging mode that gives 10 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes charging. It has a dual front-facing speaker on the device. The devices offer connectivity features like 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and GPS. It measures 153.9 x 76.2 x 11.06 mm and weighs 179 grams.

On the other hand, The Moto X Play sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7Ghz with 2GB of RAM. This device comes in 16GB and 32GB internal storages with microSD card slot (up to 128GB). It packs a 3,630mAh battery, which is 21% larger than its Moto X Style capacity. The Moto X Play comes with same connectivity features as on the Moto X Style, except the Bluetooth 4.1 LE is replaced by Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
