Motorola Droid 2 – Steps to Install Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 Firmware

Essential Pre Requisites:

  • Its essential to ensure that you have rooted the Motorola Droid 2 and also you need to install the Bootstrap clock work recovery in your device which you can do from the below mentioned links.

SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,

Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Charge left in your phone should be minimum of 70% so as to ensure that the device doesn’t gets switched Off in the middle of firmware application process. If there are any kind of antivirus suites installed in your computer then you will have to disable the same or else these will tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

    this is for the droid 2 right? there is a nook color reference.

    Once the update process is done, the device will be landing up in the recovery mode. Now, select “++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. That’s it you have now successfully updated the nook color with the latest ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware.

    hope its just a typo. with things like that…Im sure not going to guinea pig this “ICS zip package.” If anyone else has positive results lemme know and ill try too. Otherwise ill just go to the source at rootzwiki…otherwise is a decent tutorial on NAND bakcup and flashing a new rom…
