The Motorola Electrify M has got into the list of phones which would have the ability to be unlocked, under the Bootloader Unlocking program, which had been recently introduced and the program includes a few phones like the Morotola Razr HD, the Motorola Atrix HD and a few others.
The phone is going to enter the market on 9th November 2012 through the U.S. Cellular network and that would be available for unlocking, but as always the warranty would be void if you are unlocking the bootloader. Unlocking always has its own advantages and disadvantages, as losing the warranty would on the other end, help you install any number of custom ROMs in the device.
Novermber 2nd, 2012:
Motorola and US Cellular have announced a new Android device, which is due to launch on 8th of November when the 4G LTE-capable Motorola ELECTRIFY M would enter the market. The US Cellular network has been into the expansion phase as they are expanding the 4G LTE networks all around in the US, and just after the announcement of their expansion plans, they are coming up with something compatible to the same already.
- The Motorola Electrify M is going to come with the following specifications:
- 4.3-inch Super-AMOLED Advanced display
- Dual-core 1.5GHz processor
- Corning Gorilla Glass
- Android 4.04 (Ice Cream Sandwich); upgradeable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- 8 MP rear-facing camera with HDR
- 1.3 MP front-facing camera
- 2000 mAh battery
The display is virtually a borderless one, and its a high resolution one with the capacitive multitouch function. When it’s the 4G LTE connectivity along with the 1.5GHz processor together in a device, you can expect how well the performance would be when high-size graphics are opened using the LTE network.
Although the company is launching it with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, there would be an update available for the users, who can experience the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the Electrify 4G. The phone would be available in stores on 9th November, with the price of $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate for customers who are in an area that supports 4G LTE.
The Motorola Electrify M 4G has some other excellent connectivity options, which include the NFC to share links, apps, Youtube videos all through the Android Beam. The battery capacity of 2000 mAh can be called quite enough for the processor and other specs it holds, but we won’t call it a real strong battery that would provide long periods of continuous usage.
“The Motorola ELECTRIFY M is a great choice for customers who want a smartphone that gives them fast access to information and entertainment and can also help them stay organized,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular. “As we continue to roll out the 4G LTE network to more customers between now and the end of the year, we’re providing more options to help them select the right 4G LTE device that meets their needs and can enhance their lives.”
