As announced earlier Motorola launched its Moto G (3rd Gen) today in India. The device comes in two different variants one with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage for Rs.11,999 and the other with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage
The Moto G (2015) comes with a 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display and comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz along with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot up to 128GB supported.
There will be a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. The battery on this device is updated to 2,470mAh. It supports 4G LTE along with the other basic connectivity features. It measures 142.1 x 72.4 x 11.6 mm and weighs 155 grams. The upcoming device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The device will be IPx7 certified that makes it water resistant, but not dust proof. Motorola offers several customization with Moto Maker. In India the device will be available from midnight today and will be sold exclusively through Flipkart.
Earlier: July 17, 2015, 12:28 : Motorola has sent out invites for its event scheduled for July 28th. The company is expected to launch the rumoured third iterations of Moto G and Moto X.The event will be held simultaneously in Delhi, London, New York, and Sao Paulo.
The invite reads, “Your relationship status is about to change,” and is signed “XGX, Moto.” The India invite continues along the same relationship vein, saying, “A good friend will offer you their umbrella when it rains. A best friend will forever be ready to dance in the rain with you.”
The new Moto G is expected to sport a 5.0-inch screen with either a 720p or 1080p resolution. It’ll be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1GB/2GB of RAM as well as 16GB of built-in storage. It’ll most likely run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and may have a 13 and 5-megapixel camera. The battery is expected to be 2,470mAh, which is pretty decent. The new Moto G may even get the Moto Maker treatment, so you could choose your own back cover. The smartphone is expected to be priced around $180, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.
The Moto X 2015 is also very likely to be announced at the July 28 event. Based on several leaks, it’s expected to have a 5.2-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution, and it may even have a fingerprint sensor. It may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 4GB of RAM inside. Either 32 or 64GB of built-in storage will be offered, but there’s been no hint that the Moto X will have a MicroSD card slot. A 16 and 5-megapixel camera duo round out the rumored specs.
