The Motorola Xoom is an Android tablet PC launched by Motorola introduced at CES 2011. The Android Honeycomb 3.0 processor was rushed in manufacturing of the device and it was released on February 24th, 2011 as a competitor to Apple iPad and newly entered Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Motorola Xoom is not an ordinary competitor of Apple iPad among the race of best tablet but it has can play its cards right and the Motorola gave it the best to Xoom.

The Motorola Xoom has 10.1 inches WXGA touch screen display with a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. The screen is capacitive in nature and includes 16 million colors with a pixel density of 160 dpi. It also supports multi touch input, accelerometer sensor and Gyroscope and barometer sensors. The tablet with 10 inches makes it perfect enough computing devices. It has landscape as the primary display orientation and screen can be rotated in four ways.
It includes a powerful Tegra 2 T20 chipset with 1 GB of RAM with the processor from ARM Cortex A9. The hardware of Motorola Xoom makes it a powerful computing device.
Coming the the design part, surely it looks attractive and a perfect mixture of glass, metal and plastic finish. It looks better with its round corners edges and thin bezel around the screen. When kept in landscape mode it includes power on/off button at the top, volume up and down button on the left and wired ports like microUSB, microHDMI port, charging port and a dock connector are located at the bottom. The 3.5 mm audio jack, SIM card slot and memory card slot are located at the top.
Motorola Xoom was ready for the released as early as possible but Xoom made rush for Android Honeycomb and it was launched on February 24, 2011 with 3G version. It was the first tablet which got Honeycomb Android processor and the existing 3.0 version can be upgraded to v 3.1.

Processing the requirement of video calls and webcam need, the tablet was rarely seen with front facing camera. But Motorola Xoom has a front facing camera with 2 mega pixels with fixed focus and it can be used for best video quality for video calls and video chat perfectly suitable for Google Talk.

It includes a standard 25 Wh (equivalent to 6500 mAh) Lithium ion battery which provides a continuous music playback of 80 hours, standby time of up to 336 hours during 3G usage and a talk time of 9 hours. Overall the battery very good.

With all those specifications and features the Motorola Xoom weights at 730 grams despite being a tablet. One would expect its successor to be less in weight as the tablet PC should be portable enough to carry them in hands. Motorola Xoom is priced higher than the Apple iPad and it’s tough to be Apple.
