How to Move Android Apps APK from Internal Memory to SD Card

MoveToSD LogoIf you are using Android phone and if you are not able to download and use more applications is like a jet plane with only one passenger on it and is running out of fuel. Well our Android phones are very powerful and a proper use of the resources may prove you very useful. Android application base is vast and the variety will never stop us from using them and try them but what if we are not able to save the applications on our phone and use them as and when required? So for this reason we have the facility to save applications or install applications on the SD card itself.

The phone internal memory is normally not adequate to install all the required applications of our choice, thus it becomes very difficult to manage all the applications and use them accordingly. The Android version 2.2 allows us to move applications to SD card so that we can install applications on the SD card and thus use all the required applications as and when wanted. The application namely MoveToSD will help with the problem as easily as putting a dot. This application is very easy to use as it has a very simplistic UI which helps in easy application management.

MoveToSD is just the right application for those who want to manage applications, thus applications can be moved from internal phone memory to SD card and can also be moved from SD to internal phone memory as per requirement. The very simple UI makes the job easier as we can very easily reach the columns, here there are two columns, one for applications installed on SD card and another for applications installed on phone memory. Along with that the application also displays the amount of memory left free in phone memory and amount of memory left free on the SD card, thus we are very much aware of the memory that will be used up and the memory that will be left free on the SD card as well as phone memory.

MoveToSD can also perform normal operations like force stop, uninstall, clear data and clear cache. The only setback for this application is that only one application can be moved to SD at a given time, thus batch operations are not possible. If the application is used in order to save phone memory then batch operations are really not required. For example, if an application is frequently used then that particular application can be left in the phone memory and games which take up most of the space can be moved to SD card in order save phone memory. Application is only supported on Android devices with version 2.2 and above.

so what you are basically saying is that some paps cannot be moved.
what about stuff like games and watsapp, cant they be moved as they are movable on symbian which means that the developers have made them so they can be moved?

I recently purchased the LG OPTIMUS NET with Android Gingerbread. Al though my phone allows selective apps to be transferred to the sd card, I want to know if there is any method I can use to transfer all apps to the SD CARD.

    Please reply.

    Thank You.

Yes, you transfer all apps to SD by using link2sd software. Before you use Link2sd make sure that you have rooted your LG Optimus. Rooting your LG Optimus will void your device warranty.

Not all applications can be moved to SD, it happens because an application needs support of move to SD. If that support is present then you can move that application using MoveToSD.

Make sure that your application is updated to latest version. Normally most of the latest application updates include move to SD support.
