MTS India has launched Android based smartphones in the Indian market priced under Rs 5000. With the evergrowing Android industry in India, Android phones are getting more and more popular and launching phones at a very low budget like this makes the competition much more tight and interesting and takes Android to the masse.s
Two phones, the MTS mTag 3.1 and MTS LiveWire have been launched today and both the devices support EVDO Connectivity. EVDO or 3x technology is the 3G equivalent on CDMA and provides high speed internet services like live streaming and others on smartphones. Both the MTS phones come with a Live Television application from MTS pre-installed on them. MTS India also will offer bundled packages with free talktime, SMS Subscriptions and Data packages.
MTS mTag 3.1
The mTag is basically a Huawei C8511 with an MTS branding and a 2.8 inch capacitive display and has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The mTag is based on Qualcomm’s 600Mhz Snapdragon processors and also has a 3.2 Megapixel display. It runs on Android Froyo 2.2
The LiveWire is ZTE’s N600 and comes with a 2.8 inch capacitive display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The LiveWire also supports EVDO based high speed internet access and comes with Android Froyo 2.2 and a 3 Megapixel camera.
With such cheap Android devices coming in the market, and a lot of region specific and MTS operator specific apps, Android is surely reaching to the masses as the numbers are expanding rapidly.
