Motorola has officially announced the next generation flagship device, which is not named, Moto X+1,or Moto X2, instead company is called it new Moto X. The much rumoured device sports a new design with a touch of previous aesthetic as the design head at Motorola, Jim Wicks, would have wanted it.
The second generation Moto X comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution), and is powered by the current generation Snapdragon 801 processor, clocking at 2.5 GHz. It will be currently running Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system sporting an stock Android experience, but it will probably be the first device to upgrade with Android L version later this fall. The new device is packed with a 2GB of RAM, and has option to choose 16GB or 32GB internal storage, as it does not feature a microSD card slot for expansion.
In the camera department, the device sports an 13MP rear camera with Dual LED flash and 4K video shooting capability, which is an upgrade from previous 10MP rear shooter. For connectivity, the device offers various set of features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and GLONASS. It also boasts four microphones, which will help in various purposes like calling, voice recording, etc. All this is powered by a 2300mAh,which is 100mAh higher than the previous Moto X model.
Motorola also adds a new set of Moto Maker customization, which includes 17 colored backs, 4 leathers and 4 woods options to choose from. The Texas manufacturer is known for its app suite (Active Display, touchless Control and Moto Assist), which was originally introduced on Moto X last year, is now rebranded as Active Display and Touchless Control to Moto Display and Moto Voice, respectively.
The Moto Voice now allows you to customize the voice controls by changing app phrases, to be something other than “Ok, Google Now”. Now you can post your facebook status, Open Youtube, as well as send messages on WhatsApp by rephrasing the hotwords to suite your style. Company has also built commands for you, like “goodnight” or “good morning”, which would turn sleep mode on or off. While Moto Display app is just the same as Active Display.
Company has also introduced a special charger, which will be available to purchase separately, the device is named as Turbo or Super Charger. By using this charger, you can juice up your Moto X with approximately 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, which is pretty incredible per say.
