The Google Nexus 9 goes up for pre-order in the U.S., Germany and France via the Play Store. The Wi-Fi model with 16GB of storage in either black or white is priced at $399 and the 32GB of storage for a total of $479. The French Amazon store has it listed at €399 for 16GB, €489 for 32GB and even the 32GB LTE model for €569. The LTE model and “sand” color options yet to go on sale on Amazon in US. The LTE model is available for pre-order in Germany also. The Nexus 9’s pre-ordered from Amazon will be shipped out on November 3rd.
Google partnered with HTC for the new Nexus 9 Android tablet. The Nexus 9 comes with an 8.9-inch 2048 x 1536 Full HD “Quad HD” display with a new 4:3 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. HTC claimed that the new tablet can be easily carried around in one hand and yet big enough to work on it. A magnetic keyboard folio that allows the Nexus 9 to rest on your lap at two different angles like a laptop will also be made available by Google/HTC.
The Nexus 9 have an 8 MP rear camera and 1.6 MP front-facing camera. The tablet is powered by a big 6,700 mAh battery. The Nexus 9 also have the HTC’s front-facing “BoomSound” speakers and a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. The tablet is powered by 2.3 GHz processor with a Kepler DX1 GPU to enable more multitasking. The Nexus 9 comes in 32 and 64 GB version. The Nexus 9 comes in Indigo Black; Lunar White and Sand coloured backs. Nexus 9 offers various connectivity options including NFC and Bluetooth 4.1.
This week Google has announced the Nexus 9 alongside the new Nexus 6 smartphone, and the completely redesigned, better, faster, and smarter new Android 5.0 Lollipop software update. HTC’s Nexus 9 will be the first device with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
