ZTE, the Chinese smartphone company, launched the online-exclusive brand Nubia to compete with Honor & OnePlus. A couple of weeks back, it came with its first ever dual camera smartphone, Nubia M2. Today, Nubia launched its second dual camera smartphone, Nubia Z17 Mini along with its first 360-degree camera called Nubia NeoAir VR Camera. The device comes with a unibody metal design and comes in Black Gold and Champagne Gold color options. Unlike the Nubia M2, there is front facing home button on the Nubia Z17 Mini. Instead, we can see the iconic red ring capacitive button.
The fingerprint sensor in now moved to the rear of the device.The 4GB RAM variant of the Nubia Z17 Mini comes powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC, and the high-end variant with 6GB RAM packs Snapdragon 653 SoC. The 4GB RAM variant is priced at 1699 Yuan (approx $245 / €230) whereas the 6GB RAM variant costs 1999 Yuan (approx $290 / €272). The device also supports NFC and can be used for authorizing virtual payments on WeChat and AliPay mobile payment services. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Nubia UI 4.0 that comes with heavy customizations.
Nubia Z17 Mini – Specifications
Just like the Honor VR Camera, Nubia also rebranded the Insta360 Air as NeoAir VR Camera. It is priced at 699 Yuan (approx $100 / €95) and will soon start retailing exclusively in China. Unlike the Samsung Gear 360 Camera, the NeoAir can be used with other wide-range of Android smartphones with a minimum of 2GB of RAM and USB Type-C port. The NeoAir VR camera will be available only in Black color options
