Finally, the successor for 2014 Flagship Killer has arrived today. The new OnePlus 2 comes with improved specifications along with few hardware upgrades. The company dubbed this new smartphone as the 2016 Flagship Killer and says the OnePlus 2 has been ahead of its competitors. Many of us thought that OnePlus 2 will sport a QHD display, but the company decided to stay on Full HD resolution saying adding pixels beyond this brings nothing to the user experience.
The Hardware improvements include the Premium Steel Frame around the device, Fingerprint Scanner, Type-C USB port, and Alert Slider on the left of the device. Now we can have a look at the comparison of specifications between OnePlus 2 and other flagship devices launched in 2015.
Here we compare the OnePlus 2 with Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, Sony Xperia Z3+ and LG G4

As mentioned earlier the display on OnePlus 2 comes with Full HD resolution while the Galaxy S6 and LG G4 has QHD resolution displays. The other two devices HTC One M9 and Xperia Z3+ has the same resolution as of OnePlus 2. Coming to the processors, most them has the octa-core processors except the LG G4, which comes powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core SoC.
The LPDDR4 RAM on OnePlus 2 makes it way ahead among the other devices. Though we might not found any serious issues between the usage of smartphones with 3GB and 4GB RAM, the LPDDR4 RAM on the OnePlus makes it way ahead in the race with other flagship devices. The LPDDR4 RAM brings more performance with the same power consumption as of LPDDR3 RAM.
With the 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera on the smartphone makes it competitive with the other flagships in this segment. It also includes the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and laser focus, with which the camera can focus just in 0.3 seconds. The 3,300mAh battery is a serious upgrade over the 3,000mAh battery found on the OnePlus One and no other flagship device offered more than 3,000mAh capacity. the LG G4 is the only device with 3,000mAh battery while the other devices sports much smaller batteries.
The OnePlus 2 costs only $329 for 16GB variant and $389 for 64GB variant, where the pricing of other flagships ranges from $540-$700. At this price, the OnePlus 2 misses few features like Wireless Charging, NFC, and MicroSD card slot. The device will be available to purchase from August 11 and the company started registrations for invites few days before the launch.
