OnePlus 3 & 3T Smartphones Get Oxygen OS 4.1 Update Based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat

OnePlus has released the latest OTA update for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones that bring Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Oxygen OS 4.1.0. The users will be notified about this new update in the coming days, if not, they can manually check by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Earlier this year, the company released the Android 7.0 Nougat based Oxygen OS Update. Along with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the Oxygen OX 4.1 also brings the Google security patch updates for the month of March. A few days ago, Samsung also promised to release the monthly security updates for the unlocked smartphones in the U.S.

Talking about the other new features in the Oxygen OS 4.1.0, the devices will support capturing expanded screenshots. Most of the other Chinese smartphone manufacturers started offering this same feature from last year itself. The user can scroll through the web pages to take longer screenshots. Along with the regular bug fixes, this new update also solves the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues. In the camera department, the video stabilization is now improved while recording videos. While the capturing moving objects, the blur in the image will be reduced while processing.

Coming to the visual differences between the Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 7.1.1 Nougat, now both the devices will offer a new set of emojis. The update is now started rolling out to the users of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users in Canada and will be soon available to all the users. However, both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are not Google Daydream compatible as they sport only a Full HD resolution display which might not give the best virtual reality (VR) experience. On top of the features offered by Google, OnePlus add a few more to enhance the user experience with the Oxygen OS.

Yesterday, the company also announced the new OnePlus 3T colette Edition which comes in all-black color. The device will be available in just 250 units, and the user can purchase it from the one-day pop-up shop at the colette store in Paris on March 21st. This special edition device will mark the 20th anniversary of colette concept stores and comes with a colette logo engraved on the bottom rear. The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB fo internal storage and is priced at €479 (approx $510). It is the same OnePlus 3T with 5.5-inch Full HD Display, Snapdragon 821 SoC, 16MP Rear Camera, and 3400mAh Battery with Dash Charge support.
