Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO finally launched much-awaited smartphones R9s and R9s Plus. Both smartphones are camera-centric smartphones and come with 16-megapixel cameras at back and front. These smartphones are the successor of previously launched R9 and R9 Plus. The company claims it had sold more than 20 million units of these smartphones in just six months of launch. Now company came up with upgraded version. These smartphone will be available in China in Gold and Rose Gold colors. The R9s priced at CNY 2,799 while the R9s Plus priced CNY 3,499 in China. There is no information about the international availability of these smartphones yet. Both comes with the fingerprint scanner which embedded in the home button.
Talking about the specifications of the smartphones, the R9s Plus is premium one and comes with the slightly bigger display than R9s. The R9s has 6-inch IPS full HD display along with 1920*1080pixel resolution. The pixel density of R9s Plus screen is 368 PPI. While on the other hand, R9s comes with 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved screen. The display of both smartphones comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen resolution is same as R9s Plus.
Talking about the camera of the smartphones, both comes with same camera setup at front and back. As mentioned earlier, there is a 16-megapixel camera at back and front. The rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture white the front shooter equipped with a f/1.7 aperture and 6P lense. The rear camera can record up to 4K videos. The R9s camera also comes with optical image stabilization (OIS) for recording less blurry videos. Both smartphones run on ColorOS 3.0 on the top of Android 6.0.1 operating system.
The OPPO R9s comes with 6GB RAM on board while R9s comes with 4GB RAM which is decent. There is 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor in R9s Plus along with Adreno 506 GPU. While R9s came with 1.9GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. Both smartphones come with 64GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via an SD card.
The OPPO R9s comes with 3010 mAh battery for 5.5-inch display while R9s Plus has slightly bigger 4,000 mAh battery for powering up massive 6-inch display. Talking about the connectivity of the smartphone, both are dual SIM smartphones and support 4G VoLTE. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, and Micro USB 2.0 port.
