Oppo, recently launched the Oppo R7 Plus and Oppo R7 lite smartphones in India for Rs. 29,990 and Rs. 17,990 respectively. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has officially launched the successor of the Oppo R7 called as Oppo R7s. The device was unveiled during the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) event in Dubai.
Oppo recently said in a press release, “the R7s will offer the consumers consumers a bigger battery, a larger screen and double the storage space of the R7, all the while boasting the full-metal unibody and stellar photo-taking capabilities of its predecessor.”
Coming to its specifications, the Oppo R7s features a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. It comes powered by 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB/4GB RAM. The device has 32GB onboard storage and also comes with a microSD card support for expansion upto 128GB.
The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera for video calling and selfie lovers. Connectivity options on the dual sim capable smartphone include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port with OTG functionality. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 2.1 out of the box.
The handset comes backed by a 3070mAh battery and also features VOOC flash charging technology that can offer upto 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charge. The dimensions of the smartphone measure 151.8 x 75.4 x 6.95 mm and weighs 155 grams.
The Oppo R7s is priced at 2,599 Yuan (approx $410) for the 3GB RAM variant and 2,799 Yuan (approx $441) for the 4GB RAM variant. The 3GB RAM variant is already available for sale and the registrations for the 4GB RAM variant are now open. The device will be first launched in Australia later followed by select Asian markets in November. In the US and European markets the device is expected to be launched in December.
