Pantone 5 SoftBank 107SH Radiation Detector Phone – Specs & Features

Japan favorite network operator NTT DoCoMo in their homeland has released 29 devices for the summer 2012 line up. It’s the turn of SoftBank the second best Japanese carrier to come with new smartphone coming in this quarter. So Softbank going head to head with NTT DoCoMo but DoCoMo doesn’t seems to give any room for other carriers. Definitely the trend is towards the Android powered smartphones and SoftBank does well to come out with a Sharp Pantone 5 107 SH smartphone which is powered  by Google’s own operating system.

Introduced as “Land of the Rising Sun” this phone from Sharp comes with exotic function of radiation detector. While the US and Europe are still getting used to see water proof and dust proof phones, these kind of features in smartphone are existing since a long time and Pantone 5 107SH is no exception as this receives IP certification. Coming out to the radiations emitted by smartphones one who communicates much has to understand the impact of radiation factor. Nothing big new, alternatively Tawkon application does calculate the radiation level on any smartphone available for free download at Google Play Store.

Going through the specifications of the Sharp Pantone 5 107SH smartphone it comes with 3.7 inches screen with 854 x 480 pixel resolution and this would be powered with 1.4 Ghz single core processor. Though hardware wise this is on the mid level side, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS makes it very well device and for photos and video recording capabilities can be done with included 4 mega pixel camera on the rear side. Its equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi Fi internet connectivity. This would come with pre installed Google applications like Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Mail, Google Navigation, Google Picasa and Google Play Store access which is the right place for you to browse to more than half a million Android applications, widgets, games and tools available for free and paid download.

As far as the pricing goes, there is nothing official report and the phone will be made available in July. Not much of the details were made available during announcement.

    The pantone has a built in ionizing radiation detector (Gamma rays from radioactive decay) and NOT a EM radiation detector.
