So, let’s now check out on how you can unlock the bootloader for the HTC Sensation with the help of the official HTC Dev tool of which we will provide you the brief overview.

Brief Outlook on the Process of Unlocking the bootloader:

  • Android SDK (Software Developer Kit) is used to run the fastboot command and request the device identifier token,
  • Then the identifier token comes out as an output to the PC Console,
  • Now, the user submits the device ID along with the token via the website HTCDEV.COM,
  • Once the same is validated, the unlock key is mailed to the user for the use,,
  • With the help of the unlock key, user unlocks the same by entering the Unlock command with unlock key.

Bootloader Unlock

As you can see the above flow path that it will take not more than a maximum of 30 minutes to finish the unlocking the bootloader process. The only major time eater here is to get the unlock key which involves the validation part. Another major time eater is the sync setup of ADB as well as the HTC Sync which nearly involves the ten steps to locate the phone’s unique identifier token (UIT) which are explained below in the form of images.

Procedure to Perform Bootloader Unlock Process on your HTC Sensation Android Phone:

Step 1: First up you need to re insert the battery from your phone as shown below,

Step 2: Now, you will have to Press the “Volume Down” and the “Power” button to start the device in the Bootloader mode.

Step 3: Using the “Volume Buttons” you need to select the up or the down option and choose the “Fastboot” option and press the power button.

    I am trying to root my desire HD. I have followed the instructions to the letter. At stage 8 it says waiting for device for like forever. Is there any other way to root?

    i have htc wildfire s , can i just S-off my gsm phone with it?
    actually i tried this method but then i am not geting ny token codes on d step (fastboot oem get_identifier_token)

          yes you need to turn the S Off! but thats in the HTC Devices!

            Many instructions in this thread are too vague. You need to be specific; for example: What is turning the “S” off. It takes hours to read through the mountain of details all of you produce. Have any of you heard of putting up the instructions in a single place and always updating the same as needed.
