The much debated Google PLAY Store refund window period has been increased to 120 minutes now which is 2 hours. So next time when you have purchased any app/ game, you can get your money back within 120 minutes. As long as your request for a refund takes place within two hours of your purchase, you will get your money back. This is very beneficial when an app is mistakenly purchased or the app is not as stable as promised and also when a kid accidentally ends up purchasing the app is also solved. Google has made this policy change just today and soon it will be implemented globally. As on September, 10, 2014, this policy has been updated.
How to raise the refund request?
To raise the refund request, you need to open the Google PLAY Store app, My Apps to select the game or app which you would like to return and tap on refund. After 120 minutes of time, you will not be able to see the “Refund” option in the PLAY Store. After 120 minutes, uninstall app option will be visible as mentioned in the guidelines below;
On your Device:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Touch the Play Store icon > My Apps.
- Select the app or game you’d like to return.
- Select Refund
On Computer (play.google.com):
- Visit Google Play using a web browser.
- Click the gear icon > My Orders.
- Point to the app or game you’d like to return. Click the menu icon that appears.
- Select Report a problem, then select the refund option. Describe the reason for the refund, then click Submit.

Google has updated the refund policy for paid apps and games on the Google Play support site of which we have also mentioned the screen capture below;
