Quick & Essential Pre Requisites:

I get ‘adb’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file in the cmd screen
Is there a way I can change it back to manufature settings or is this permanent? I’m anxious to root it but nervous that is could cause damage. Please help and thank you.

I believe you are not in the directory where adb is and/or that path is not part of your global paths.
In the terminal, cd to the correct folder where the Android kit was installed to. Once there, adb should work.
That is to say, if you can type “dir” and see adb.exe then your should be good to go.
