Hi Pradeep, I followed your instructions as mentioned on my Galaxy Note N7000 with XXLT5 (followed the article preceding this) but am unable to root the device. HAve tried it 4 times and I see that the YEllow Triangle comes with the Counter set to 4. Can you please advise if there is anything else specifically that needs to be done?

Finally figured out, excuse me but I am new to this:
After following the steps on Part 2 above and checking with “Root checker” to find that it is not rooted, did the following steps:
      1. Shutdown the device completely.
      2. Pressing the “Volume Up”+”Menu”+”Power Key” I was taken to the Recovery mode “Philz touch”
      3. Selected the first option “Reboot now” and presented with another screen with options.
      4. I chose the “Yes – Root the device” option
and Voila! after rebooting (though the Yellow Triangle remains) successfully checked the Root Checker app and it states – “Congratulations This device has root Access”

Thanks Android Advices team and other bloggers for your valuable comments that helped me solve this. Hope it helps others who are/were experiencing this issues.

In the pannel of Odin appears All threads completed (succeed 1 / failed 0), but Root Checker (Basic) shows that the device has not proper root access. I repeated the process again and again with no success…

don’t do it – USELESS INFO copied
it don’t work, not on download, not on recovery
on download, zip on recovery it doesn’t recognize the package as valid
Can someone post the right package, the whole net is copying the same nonsense
useless to update to xxlt5 without root – going back to xxlt3

Iam using galaxy note 2 . I like it very much but I think a major inconvenience .because the downloaded file cannot move the external memory. I mean games other big files etc…, video audio and photos only can move.

Hello. You need to update the backup warning on page 1 to include the calendar. Also, if this is an official Samsung firmware then Kies must work, surely? Thanks.
