How to Root T Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 on Latest ICS 4.0 UVLE1 Firmware
T Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone users can now easily root their device which has recently received the latest Official ICS Android 4.0 firmware. The rooting process which we will be checking out will only be working for SGH-T989 model of Galaxy S2 and not for other Galaxy S2 models. Go to Settings > About Phone and check whether the firmware version if UVLE1 Android 4.0 version or not as this rooting procedure will only work on this firmware. Also, once rooted you can install many apps which needs the rooting access. Be informed that once you root the device, the warranty will get void. The only way with which one can reclaim the lost warranty is by re applying the update of Official UVLE1 ICS update which we will be coming up with the same on AndroidAdvices.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- A minimum of 50% battery should be there in your phone so as to make sure that it doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update. Enable the USB Debugging in your Samsung Galaxy S2 T Mobile from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.
