How To Root Samsung Galaxy Ace GT S5830 on Gingerbread Firmware

Galaxy Ace LogoSamsung Galaxy Ace S 5830 owners wait is now over as we have got an immense response for the rooting procedure, so we are here with the same. So, for all those who are having the current version of firmware as Gingerbread 2.3.3 or even 2.3.4 can now proceed to rooting of the phone. In the due course of this article we will not only see just the instructions to root but also we will see on how you can safely finish the rooting process with the Pre Requisite instructions.

Rooting voids the warranty, but please note that rooting access can also be revoked at any point of time upon your discretion and after which you can then reclaim the warranty. Over a period of days we will also see on how you can easily un root the phone as well which too is a simple process.

It’s always recommended to follow the mentioned instructions carefully before proceeding to the rooting process. The biggest advantage of rooting is that as soon as you root the device, you can even taste your phone with the Custom ROMs which are not only faster due to the EXT4 file system compared to the existing laggy RFS file system. With the help of rooting, you can convert the file system to the EXT4 which then makes device faster which can also be measured in terms of quadrant ranks. Please note that this rooting article is strictly for the Galaxy Ace S5830 handset and not for any other phone. If you still proceed to apply this to any other similar phones then there is a high probability that you may end up bricking up the phone.

Note: We undertake no responsibility what so ever in any manner if anything happens to your device after rooting the same which is an unlikely case if you root the phone by following the instructions which are mentioned below.

my cel always gave me a message that the internal memory was full, even when nothing was installed on the phone, i had the pics and music on the SD card. after a while i had to turn the phone off cuz the screen was frozen and when i tried to turn it on again it started looping between the samsung animation and the samsung logo. what can i do to recover the information i have on the phone? is there any way i can turn it in safe mode to access that and the reboot the system to the factory settings?

    • Reply Neela Pradeep March 9, 2012 at 9:41 pm

its a full firmware, its not a kernel!

      • Reply Ace May 25, 2012 at 11:37 am

Yes, however, it maybe rooted, but it needs a CF-Root Kernel adaptation for it to be fully rooted. Without the proper Kernel, you can’t run Rooted applications.

When I try to activate the data network mode the 3G icon that is supposed to appear on the top of the screen doesn’t appear. Can you tell me how to solve this problem? Why can’t I active data network mode?

Please, tell me how to reverse the process. I have already restored the phone to factory settings and cleared cache in recovery mode, but the superuser application is still working. I want to remove it completely.

          Turn off your phone
          3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
          4) Select update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip
          5) After the update completed – reboot
          6) Now you have rooted S5830
this this is the corect one

When trying to apply update from sdcard, the installation is aborted due to “E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)”

    • Reply NeaL Pradeep August 23, 2011 at 11:38 am

change the path where file was kept!

        Hi Neal,

I just wanted to mention that i also got the exact same error as Stern.

When trying to apply update from sdcard, the installation is aborted due to “E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)

I should mention that i have a stock standard firmware version 2.3.4. Gingerbread DVKQ3

I have tried putting the file in various locations on the SD card and still get the same error. I also get the same error when trying other root zips.

Do you think this is because it is the DVKQ3 Version? I notice that there is a firmware DDKQ6 out.

If you can help me in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

        Thanks in advance, Stirling

          Hi,
Just bought a samsung galaxy ace, im afraid the ‘Download the Ace Rooting Package’ link doesn’t seem to work anymore. I have android version 2.3.6

      Hi Stern,

Did you figure out how to get past the following error?

When trying to apply update from sdcard, the installation is aborted due to “E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7)”

I also get the same error. Please let me know if you know a way.

      Thanks,
      Stirling

download the file, right click on it, select properties and unblock the file!
