How To Root Samsung Galaxy Ace GT S5830 on Gingerbread Firmware
Samsung Galaxy Ace S 5830 owners wait is now over as we have got an immense response for the rooting procedure, so we are here with the same. I should mention that i have a stock standard firmware version 2.3.4. Gingerbread DVKQ3
I have tried putting the file in various locations on the SD card and still get the same error. I also get the same error when trying other root zips.
Do you think this is because it is the DVKQ3 Version? I notice that there is a firmware DDKQ6 out.
If you can help me in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

what error you are getting and what key pattern you are using to get into the d/l and recovery mode!!!
pressing Middle Key(OK Key) + Power key and Volume Down Key simultaneously before connecting to PC i use this pattern but it’s not turn to recovery mode but in dowload mode …so is it i still can rooting my device with this mode and howl ong do i have to wait?
Turn off your phone
3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
4) Select update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip
5) After the update completed – reboot
6) Now you have rooted S5830

recovery mode does not work on my device. the demo video is not showing galaxy ace. only “downloading….” appears on my screen and the question is how long should I wait for this downloading process??

I have updated the firmware of my S5830 to Gingerbread DDQK5 following your instructions from the other article. First of all thanks a lot for that.
Now I want to also root my phone following these instructions mentioned here. But before that I would like to know to ask the following 3 questions :
1. Are there any instructions already available to unroot the phone incase I need to show it to a Service Centre so that the warranty is not void? If yes, can you guide me to it as well.
2. Will I be able to update to Cynanogen Mod after rooting?
3. Does this have any effect on battery life after rooting? postively or negatively?

I put galaxy root zip file in the sd of the galxy ace phone & press vol + middle + power it is showing downloading on the phone screen & not recovery mode what should i do & how much time it will take?
it hardly takes 5 seconds to boot in the recovery mode!

I have unrooted my phone following the procedure from above and apparently it all went successfully, but afterwards I was unable to activate data network mode, so I can’t connect to 3G or 2G networks. When I try to activate the data network mode the 3G icon that is supposed to appear on the top of the screen doesn’t appear. Can you tell me how to solve this problem? Why can’t I active data network mode?
Please, tell me how to reverse the process. I have already restored the phone to factory settings and cleared cache in recovery mode, but the superuser application is still working. I want to remove it completely.

Yes, however, it maybe rooted, but it needs a CF-Root Kernel adaptation for it to be fully rooted. Without the proper Kernel, you can’t run Rooted applications.
