What if the firmware is not the same as listed? i currently on 4.0.1.A.0.216 gingerbread 2.3.4
i just upgraded to 2.3.4, have you tried this way to root it? or do we need to wait for 2.3.4 version?

what is the error message you are getting?
Error was failed….when I try to root it using command “flashboot fast boot boot.img’……but I didn’t unlock the boot loader…bcoz I don’t want to unlock it…

Ok so fastboot flash boot boot.img does not work for me “error can not load boot.img”

which boot.img file you are using? Global or the normal one?
No idea really I’m very new to this and all figuring out searching the net. I used the one you provided in this tutorial. can you email me both global and normal one? Then i can try if that is the problem.
Btw when I use fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version i get a response so all that is working, only up to the point where I need to use command fastboot flash boot boot.img.

2.then i opened cmd.exe and i executed the adb.exe first and then flashboot.exe.
3.after the execution of these two .(i should have to turn of the phone and connect it to the computer)
4.after connection the code fastboot flash boot boot.img is given .it shows waitng for device

Once you download all these files which are mentioned above, you need to install the Short fuse application in your computer and then you will have to ensure that the boot.img file is placed in the same folder as that of which is located in fastboot.exe.
Once you do this now it’s time to turn Off the phone after which you will have to connect the phone to the computer in the fastboot mode. Which is connect the phone with the help of the USB cable to the computer.

4.after connection in the cmd i enter the code fastboot flash boot boot.img is given .it shows waitng for device…then i start the phone and the phone boots up normally and the cmd still shows waiting for device….

I have updated my Phone to “2.3.4 and my software Version is WORLD-I_4.0.2.A.0.62″ how can I check if my Boot Loader is Unlocked or not I have used this command “*#*#7378423#*#*” to check if my boot loader unlock is allowed it says yes, furthermore I have downloaded the software from Super One Click but as I click to Install it it shows the Following error “The application failed to Initialize properly Error Code (0xc0000135)” how to do it also i have installed Z4root in my phone but nothing seems to work?? kindly advise…..
last but not the least my purpose of rooting is to move all my apps to SD card to save on the ROM space will it be possible after rooting also as Sony ericsson is about to update its phone for ICS over the Air will I get the update after rooting????
