Update: The Samsung Galaxy Grand Max smartphone is now available in India. The smartphone was earlier launched in Korea last month. It is listed to buy via online retailer Snapdeal in Grey and White colours at Rs. 17,286. The e-commerce website confirmed via a tweet that the Samsung Galaxy Grand Max will be Snapdeal exclusive.
The Galaxy Grand Max sports a 5.25-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.The smartphone runs Android KitKat.
On camera front, the Grand Max has a 13 MP camera with LED flash, while its front-facing camera is a 5 MP one with a wide 120-degree viewing angle.Other features include LTE Cat. 4, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and microSD card support. The handset measures 146 x 74.8 x 7.9 mm, weighs 161 grams, and includes a 2500 mAh battery.
The smartphone has been priced around $290 (319,000 KRW in local currency). It is available for purchase from the official Samsung Online Store in Korea. It will also be released on all the three major carriers in the country. Samsung has not revealed any details regarding the global roll out yet.

A new smartphone from Samsung has appeared online named, Galaxy Grand Max. Samsung will be releasing Galaxy Grand Max in South Korea, along with galaxy A5 and A7.
The Galaxy Grand Max is just 7.9mm thin and would be equipped with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. It would come with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and a 2,500 mAh battery. This particular model of the Galaxy Grand Max would be compatible with LTE and DMB networks.
Along with Grand Max, the Galaxy A7 will also be launched. The Galaxy A7 smartphone had passed through TENNA certification in China, recently. The smartphone has been listed as the Samsung SM-A7009. The alleged Samsung Galaxy A7 seems no different from the recently launched metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones in terms of design. The Galaxy A7 version that appeared on TENAA is made for the Chinese market. An international model is also expected. A7 is the part of Samsung’s brand new Galaxy A series, which also include A5 and A3 that has yet to make an appearance.
The Galaxy A7 might come in three variants; SM-A700S, SM-A700K and SM-A700L. As per the information printed in the magazine, the device will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, a 1.5GHz octa-core processor (possibly a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615), 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel secondary camera, and a 2,500 mAh battery. Connectivity features include LTE, VoLTE, and DMB among the usual ones such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device would be just 6.3mm thin and would weigh 140 grams.
If latest reports are to be believed, the Korean manufacturer Samsung is set to discontinue production of the Galaxy Alpha in the coming weeks. Samsung will be discontinuing the Galaxy Alpha and slowly replacing it with the Galaxy A5, which is set to launch in South Korea late next month/in early February. Production of the Galaxy Alpha will reportedly come to a halt once inventory for its materials runs out.
