This bug has been fixed in this version of firmware. So, let’s proceed to the quick pre Requisites first which you need to follow and then followed by the procedure to apply this update.

Note: Please note that this is not the Official firmware released by Samsung Electronics Ltd. and also after applying this update you will not be able to make use of KIES tool as this is the beta firmware. Hey Neel,
I have samsung s gt-i9000 with gingerbread 2.3.6 XXJVU and CSC: XXJVU(KOR). Can I install your mentioned ROM on my cell?

I want it to be recognized by KIES for future firmware updates, would that be possible after this installation?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi
my device is a galaxy S GT I9000
I’m currently running amestris 3.5 XXJVR (your tutorial = upgrade to Xtra long life battery amestris 3.5 Sep 2011).
I’m considering upgrading to amestris 7.1 (your tutorial = upgrade to Xtra long battery amestris ROM 7.1 Jan 2012).
Tutorial says to install XWJVZ. Thats OK. However, the pre-requisites for XWJVZ include a step to install XXKPQ on galaxy SL I9003 ???? Is this correct? galaxy SL I9003 ?
    thank you

    hye neal!

ive tried re-install this firmware for the second time. on the screen, appears all the options: ‘reboot the system now, Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe Cache partition’. do i need to select the first option or wait for the phone to automatically reboot?? another thing is the phone takes such a long time to start up. how long will it usually takes to start up normally where it would appear the language settings, etc.

    Thanks

    Hello Neela,

I was able to get the phone rebooted before you replied. I went through the install process from the beginning again and this time it all loaded correctly.

When I rebooted the phone, it kept rebooting over and over again in a loop. So I took out the battery and pressed volume up + menu + power, then I cleared the cache and did factory reset.

Next screen is asking for password. I tried ‘androidadvices’, ‘androidadvices.com’ and now it says:

\Sorry, try again : If you fail one more time, you can lose data in SD card.\

Do you know the password? Password? Cannot go further until you reply since I don’t want to lose my data.

My phone did not have any response after waiting half an hour with Odin. Message log is:

    Enter CS for MD5..

So then I tried to reboot but now have on my screen an image showing an old phone icon then alert triangle in yellow, then an icon of a computer. Please let me know what to do. I tried rebooting, also volume up + menu + power key, also I tried entering download mode as well but still the same. I have also taken out the battery and reinserted with same result.

    Need your help ASAP. Thanks
