Instructions for Users on Custom ROM:-
If currently you are on using any custom rom you need to reboot your phone in recovery mode. You can enter recovery mode by Holding Power Button + OK Button + Volume Down Key together.

In Recovery Mode Wipe cache partition, wipe data/factory reset and Wipe dalvik cache. While wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset are available in root menu of recovery mode for wiping dalvik cache you need to enter “advanced” folder in recovery mode. Wiping Dalvik cache removes options like CWM (clockwork mode) and other tools from your phone.

For installing this custom rom you need to be on a rooted gingerbread firmware, if you are using any other firmware you need to update your phone to gingerbread firmware and then root it. We would recommend you to flash from rooted XXJVT version. If you are not sure of your current firmware you can check the same by going through Settings>About Phone> Firmware Version where you will find version of Android OS where it will display something like XXJVT 2.3.5.This rom is not official update which is released by Samsung Electronics Ltd. It is a custom ROM which is developed by third party.

    Hi Neela,
This Juwe’s v6.0 is a black beauty! It is not mandatory to be on GB XXJVT 2.3.5 to update with this ROM. I was on XXJVS2.3.5 rooted with HTC sense ROM. I directly downloaded the Juwe’s v6.0 .zip package from the link given in this site onto my SGS GT I9000 and flashed in the recovery mode (install from SD card-choose zip from SD card) Without any problem very coolly it updated and the device’s Baseband version automatically became I9000XXJVT.

The black and white look is not so appealing, still I will continue with it to see the performance.

Thanks a lot for the updates,
    Mahmud K.

I’m on Amestris v5.1 (XXJVT) ROM. So far I find this the most stable, fast and nice.
What’s new in Juwe that is not already in Amestris?

I have found a couple of problems with this rom /article downloads from the web and market it keeps saying download unsucessful!!
2.its a wipe version,if you wipe/factory reset it deletes the added extras like nitrality and Ext4 manager!!!

    • callisto

      January 14, 2012 at 10:04 am

To get market downloads to work i had to disable virtual cache in the semphore app because it turns the virtual cache into ext2 not ext4,this has caused another problem, some of the apps in the market now say`uncompatable with this device`.Apart from this minor problem the ROM is blazin fast,Quadrant score is an awesome 3150 overclocked to 1300 mhz
