It’s not just the device always which can be totally productive, but the accessories that come along with it, take the productiveness and richness of the device to the next level. The Samsung Galaxy S III has come in, but the accessories won’t go unnoticed as the company is packing in some great ones and this is the first time Samsung is extending their hands into the accessories betterment, with the main device being their focus always. The Galaxy S III comes with accessories such as the S Pebble, the HDMI port, the Stylus, the Flip cover and a wireless charger. Let’s go through all the official accessories.
The S Pebble
This is an accessory MP3 player that accompanies the Galaxy S III, and this is unexpectedly not linked to your phone all the time. When you feel that you don’t want to carry the phone along, just the S Pebble would do the job for you. It has got a capacity of 4GB and the music is pulled from the phone’s storage, and the transfer can be done with the cable connection to the phone rather than to the computer although that is one of the other options too.
It’s neat, a little but like those gadgets from Apple, and the weight is just 13.1 gms. The S Pebble has a battery life of 17 hours, and would support a few music formats like MP3, WMA, OGG and FLAC formats. It is controlled by the touch interface that comes on the front side, and there are slide switches too located on the side, which control the power, repeat/shuffle and soundalive.
The color that the S Pebble would come matches the phone color which you selected, either the Pebble Blue or the Marble White.
HDMI Adapter
The standard HDMI adapter would help in connecting to the power directly to the TV and large screens using the HDMI cable. Samsung has included the better option too, but the HDMI connectivity is standard and a high-end smartphone support has become almost mandatory.
Allshare Cast Dongle
The Allshare Cast dongle is what the HDMI adapter is but things go wireless here. The dongle is connected to the TV (you won’t need even this if you had a Samsung Smart TV) and then the content is streamed wirelessly from the Galaxy S III. The dongle uses a protocol named WiFi display where you don’t need to care where the box is.
The dongle has got two cables – One is for the power connection and the other for the HDMI connection to the TV. This produces the videos at 1080p HD quality. It has got the Micro USB connection, and a Power LED indicator to show the status of power.
There is no pricing confirmation for the Allshare cast dongle, but the quality of streaming is perfect, with the camera being streamed or a static video.
Flip Cover
This isn’t much of an interesting accessory, but was a hit when the Galaxy Note was launched. Given the screen size of these large phones, its better to have a cover and it looks neat and professional when you are opening it like a book. The Flip cover would remove the back panel of the Galaxy S III and then place the back panel of the cover which foils the phone from two sides. The cover comes in two colors, to match the color of the phone.
Wireless Charging Kit
The wireless charging kit is the best catch of the lot. People would love to even pay for it, when Samsung brings out the entire lot of accessories into the market. Wireless charging wasn’t available to show as a demo, but we are sure it would be a typical extra casing on the back of the phone which should be worn by the device and then needs to be placed over the charging table for the wireless charging to happen. There are options out there for a few phones like the iPhone, the Blackberry and a few high-end phones but that is all provided by some 3rd party companies. When the compatibility rate and usage is quite well with those, the official ones directly from the company would surely be a killer for everything else.
The Pen Stylus
This is to bring out the style that the Galaxy Note carried, but the pen for the Note was embedded right within the body from the bottom side. But here, the story should be different. The stylus might come as an additional accessory but would serve a good purpose on the 4.8-inch touchscreen. This is the size only lesser to the Galaxy Note, and we knew how wonderful the stylus was for the Note, so having a stylus won’t just add a bit of style but even would increase the productivity.
The docks
There would be several options of docking, where the Galaxy S 3 could get Premium Audio dock, Universal vehicle dock, Desktop dock and the Car dock. Each of them would serve their own purpose, but the Car dock would be pretty helpful when you are trying to get help for the navigation through the maps, or would want to make calls using the speaker.
LED indicating Car Charging adapter and Armband
The car charging adapter with the LED indicator which would let you know about the charging status, and this accessory would be jumbled up with the Water Resistant Neoprene Sports Gym Jogging Armband with the velcro strap that would help fit on the arms of various sizes. The frontal protector would help in the touchscreen navigation in a better way. Charging speed isn’t any less than what it would be with the AC charger normally, and the charge indicator would let you know about the status and prevents the Galaxy S III from being overcharged.
Flexible Windshield Dash or Vent Mount Cradle Holder
This is one such accessory that can be placed on either the Windshield Dash, or the vent of the AC or near the front glass where the stand would hold the phone and you could make the use of it when you need to go hands-free while driving. It would hold the phone with the two wings / arms which can be adjusted and these can be well handled by a single hand.
No special adjustment is needed and placement of the holder is pretty simple, you just need to select a proper place – Suction mount, Dash Mount or Removable Air Vent Mount. The viewing angles are adjustable, and the mega grip would hold the phone pretty well.
Bicycle Handlebar Mount With Robust Rotating Cradle Holder
The mount for the handlebar of a bicycle would hold the Galaxy S III with or without the case, and its rotating so you can adjust it accordingly with the angle you need, and the adjustment could be done both horizontally and vertically. One of the extra advantages of this mount is that it could be adjusted even on a motor cycle and so either of a two-wheeler could use the same holder.
The cradle holder comes to the best use when you want the device within a proper viewing distance, and don’t want to pull out the phone from your pocket every time you want to check it.
