Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) with S-bike Mode & 8MP Camera Launched at Rs. 8,990

Samsung has recently launched its flagships Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India priced at Rs. 48,900 and 56,900 respectively. Today, the company has officially launched a budget smartphone called as Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) in India. The device comes with decent upgrades over the Galaxy J3 that launched last year. The Galaxy J3 (2016) is priced at Rs. 8,990 and is available for purchase exclusively online via Snapdeal starting today. The company is also offering double data offer for Vodafone 4G customers for six months and two months for 3G customers on data packs of 1GB and above.

Coming to the specifications part, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display that offers a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by 64-bit Spreadtrum SC7731 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz clubbed with Mali 400 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI overlaid. It has 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 128GB.

The main highlight of the smartphone is it comes with new S bike mode for bikers that lets them activate pre-recorded message for all callers, motion lock feature that ensures rider comes to a halt before answering, urgent calls filter and more. The users can easily enable or disable the S bike mode by just tapping on the NFC tag. It also has Ultra data saving (UDS) mode powered by Opera Max that compresses cellular data across all contents.

On the camera section, the smartphone comes equipped with an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash, supports 1080p video recording at 30fps and a 5MP front-facing snapper for video chats and perfect selfie images. It includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support. The handset powers a 2600mAh battery that the company claims can last upto 22 hours of talk time and upto 349 hours of standby time. The dimensions of the device measure 142.2 x 71.3 x 7.8 mm weighs around and comes in White, Black and Gold color options.
