Samsung Galaxy mini S5570 – Steps to Install Gingerbread 2.3.6 JVKT1 Firmware
Samsung Galaxy mini S5570 users can now rejoice as an all new version of Gingerbread 2.3.6 version of firmware has arrived and in this article we will check out the same. Since this one is the global update, anyone with their Samsung galaxy mini phone can apply this update, the only condition is that the device shouldn’t be a locked device or else it may even brick the phone. Last time we saw on how you can install the Gingerbread 2.3.5 firmware version. This all new update of Gingerbread 2.3.6 version is dubbed as JVKT1.

Hi there. I just got my Samsung Galaxy MINI 2 weeks before, and I am enjoying it.
I started reading about the android versions and so I got here.
The performances of the phone are:
-Model number: GT-S5570
-Android version: 2.2.1,

So my question is, what will get better in my phone if I make this update.
I mean I am not quite an expert in these things, and I wouldn’t like to take the risk to make this update if nothing major changes in my phone. I wouldn’t want to end up with my phone screwed.

Hi NeaL, I’ve updated the firmware on my galaxy mini and works perfect but i still have no flash player which was the full reason i wanted to update so i could watch Iplayer, 4od etc. I’ve also tried to install flash player manually but it says my phone doesn’t recognise the software, so have i read this wrong :

Improvement in the new Gingerbread update:
■The overall user interface now has been substantially improved as with the use of Touch Wiz 3.0 Lite, you will never feel like using any other add on like additional tweaks.
■Most of the users also reported an issue of frequent force closes in their gallery application which is now been fixed with this update of 2.3.3. By the way if you want to have an all new Gallery for Android then too you can enjoy it as it provides the iPhone like view of all the photos which are there in the Gallery with host of other added benefits and features.
■Now, the free RAM too is increased and it also releases more RAM to the users directly so that the phone becomes much faster as the RAM availability has been increased to the users so that apps can make use of it and also the start-up time has been marginally reduced by two points. The quadrant speeds have been substantially improved and also the user interface is now much speedier than before. This update is considered as the major update with almost all the fixes.
■Now, all new flash update of 10.3 Adobe flash comes packed along with this update and also most importantly the Google Maps are now updated with this update so as to deliver the 3D Map view.
■Many user also reported the issues regarding the Android Market Place where in users we getting error messages while they are on the slow internet speeds or even sometimes on Wi Fi which now has been solved by this update.

Froyo 2.2 was installed on my S5570 when I purchased the cellphone. I updated the firmware to 2.3.3 (Gingerbread XXKPF 2.3.3). After updating it was in a language I could not understand but eventually sorted that issue – I now have English (New Zealand). Gingerbread XXKPF 2.3.3 seems to be working just fine but Kies is telling me the device is not supported – assume that is because I am not using the correct firmware.
To help me understand what is required for correct firmware, I ask the following questions:-
1. To use the region firmware applicable to New Zealand – what is the filename of the firmware called?
2. How do I obtain that file?
3. What is the filename of the New Zealand Froyo version 2.2 as I am wondering whether I should be going back to the original firmware and starting with the correct firmware?
4. How do I obtain that file?

I updated my SGM to 2.3.6 few weeks back, no problems. I only had to change language and add Scandinavian keyboard.
It’s just amazing how much patience you Pradeep and NeaL have. People just don’t get it, read the instructions first, do it by the instructions, then it will work. No need to contact anyone unnecessarily.
Other thing is that so many want to try firmware for wrong device, don’t they know what they have? Weird. And that Icecream Sandwich, why people just don’t read official Samsung news. Firmware does not make one device completely another, it’s just software… To upgrade hardware, they should go to store and buy a \better\ one.
Btw, Adobe Flash seems to be available for Mini, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155071 but cannot guarantee it works.

After the update which went smoothly, I noticed two applications that I am not sure if they are meant to be included in the original firmware, namely S-Android and SlimeME Marketplace, both types of market place applications. Are these applications intended to be part of this firmware or were they added on. I can’t uninstall them at all.

I ve followed the tutorial but it didn t work (I waited more than 30 mns).
Then i got a screen with a danger sign between a phone and a computer.
I tried to access the recovery mode by pressing the middle key and the on button but it doesn t work.
All what I can do is going back to download mode and try to install the firmware again.
But I did it already 5 or 6 times (it s been 4 hours that I sit on the computer) and it still doesn t work.

Just got my phone back from having it reflashed by Samsung service after an abortive 2.3.4 update bricked it, only to find the GPS function wasn’t working. Used this 2.3.6 update and it now works, brilliant.
The only problem I had was that for some reason after the 2.3.6 install it set the language to Turkish (I think) and it took me a while to remeber which icons to use to change the local and language back to English.

free some size, check after installing the USB Drivers! what is the free size left in your phone?
How can I free some size, if I can’t open the phone? The USB seems working after I installed Samsung USB, that’s why Odin detected the phone.

USB Debugging? How? Is it in the ODin interface? There’s a debug option but haven’t check it.

if you have a android 2.3.3 do not install 2.3.6 gingerbread , because you can update to android 4.0.3 with cwm (clock work mod) and cyanogen (mod) 9.0.0 beta 4.

For All having issues with MIBIB download is stuck- copy the main folder to Main Drive eg: C drive and try from there.cheers

hello Pradeep thanx for your effort, i am facing a problem in Odin multi Downloader. when i connect s5570, My com port is not detecting i have galaxy gt-I9000 for updating i downloaded from your site in that odin 3 v1.00 when i connect in to tat version my small galaxy is detecting. then why it is not detecting with Odin multi downloader can please tell me the reason for that.. my mobile current version is 2.3.6 Basedband version s5570 IXXLA1 kernel version is 2.6.35.7 dpi@DELL177#1 AND Build number is GINGERBREAD .JPLA1. THE REASON FOR changing the version in this version calling software’s like jumblo, voip discount not working i hope u will give me guidance how to fix this issue

I upgrade my phone with the help of net. its work fine but after sometime its become slow you have to either clear RAM or restart phone for solve the problem.Every morning you have to restart phone for better speed. Sir can you pls give me some suggections or advice for this problem.
