Everyone knew that Android Jelly Bean update for various devices will not take much time as that it took in the case of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Barely within two months of its launch, Android Jelly Bean is now ported to second device apart from Google Nexus 7 tablet. Everyone knew that its should be Google devices which will receive Android 4.1 update first and the rest follows.
Android 4.1.1 for Galaxy Nexus GSM Phones
The Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Nexus is rolling out by Google from July 10 and this update is available for only the GSM based Galaxy Nexus phones. This update is available via Over the Air update and users are been sent notifications officially now. The Jelly Bean makes your phone go smoother and feel fast. Among the improvements includes the redesigned search experience with whole new pack of interface and faster voice search. With this update you get Google Now on your phone as well which is a newly launched Google app available for Android phones. The function of Google Now is to provide right information at just right time. Whatever happening around the world right now can be found on Google Now and the results are country specific as well.
Android 4.1.1 for Google Nexus 7 tablet
These Android 4.1.1 updates are also been rolled out to Google Nexus 7 tablet at the same time even though the tablet hasn’t reached the retail market. But Gogole I/O lucky attendees can get this update on their devices if they check. The update file size is of 12.6 MB and its been released via Over the Air update.
So Google interestingly gave no time to the developers to take advantage of the custom firmware release. It’s clearly co incidence that yesterday Google released source code for Jelly Bean for developers and today they started rolling out this big update. So for the international Galaxy Nexus users who are on AOSP 4.1.1 they can upgrade to the official Jelly Bean ROM.
The CDMA based Galaxy Nexus device will receive this update later this month. This update will be available for Nexus S and Motorola Xoom very soon as well.
