Samsung launches Galaxy Note Edge in India for Rs 64,900 – Details

Update: Samsung has officially launched Galaxy Note Edge in India for Rs 64,900. It will be available for purchase from 15th January.The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was launched in Japan on Oct 23rd. The Note Edge was officially released in its home country, South Korea, through leading carriers such as SK Telecom and KT on October 28th. The Note Edge is available in two colours, Charcoal Black and Frost White.

Some earlier leaks revealed where Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Note Edge. Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915FY would be launched in the following markets: Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Nordic countries Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The Note Edge SM-N915G should be available in Australia, India, Nepal, and Singapore. The Note Edge SM-N915F will be sold in Russia and Kazakhstan.

The Note Edge comes with a display of 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolutions. It’s a one screen turned to act like two as it provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality, even if the cover is closed, all that can be done with your thumb. The unique curved edge also gives an extended functionality of receiving notifications directly on the edge screen as you carry on with your work without getting disturbed when viewing.

Samsung phablet is powered by the 2.7 GHz Quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box with Samsung’s Touch WIZ UI on top of it. It packs a 3GB of RAM and has the option of two internal storage; 32GB and 64GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
In the camera department, the device sports a 16MP rear camera which has capabilities like Smart OIS (optical image stabilization) and Dual LED flash. At front, the device is believed to come with a 3.7MP front-facing camera, which will have capabilities to Wide-Selfies (120 degree).

For connectivity, it offers various set of features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, IR LED, and GPS. Its dimensions are 151.3 x 82.4 x 8.3mm, and weighs 174 grams, as it is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which features a fast charging (QC 2.0) that can charge Note 4 up to 50% in just 30 minutes, ultimately giving you the excellent battery life.

The Note Edge will hit the retail market on Nov. 14 from all the major wireless carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular in US. Its release date for Denmark has been set at December 12.In Europe, the device will be sold at  €899.

According to a leaked document, the Galaxy Note Edge will be available in US market for sale at T-Mobile on November 14th. Pricing of the phone has not been yet revealed by the T-Mobile. Samsung made the announcement of Note Edge at IFA Berlin last month.

While Samsung announced its latest Galaxy Note 4, the much hyped phablet of this year as got its attention, but it was not the only device that got the attention. Last year in November, Samsung was reported to be working on a three sided bended display, which has come almost true now as company announced the Note Edge, a sloping, curved OLED phone, though, on-paper it is not much different than the new Note 4. It comes with the same metallic design, a huge improvement as Samsung consumers demanded for ages.

The Note Edge comes with a slightly smaller display of 5.6-inch, as it is a Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolutions. The pricing and availability details of Galaxy Note Edge are still unknown, but we expect it to arrive in the United States sometimes in between late Q3 and early Q4 this year.

    The specs, the 2 screens, everything is ok, and looks very impressive and very good ; this is the most innovative smartphone so far , but €899, it’s REALLY expensive.
