Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 – Steps to Install ZCKJ1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware
Note for all Apple Mac Users: As of now you will not be able to follow this procedure in your Apple Mac based computers and only supports Windows based computers due to technical limitations.
For all those users who are having the Samsung Galaxy S2 phone and are from China can now smile as we will now in the due course of this article will see on how you can update your phone with the latest version of Chinese version of Gingerbread 2.3.6. This update comes as a great respite for all the users who are awaiting this update from a very long period. It almost seemed that Samsung had ignored Galaxy S2 when it came to releasing the updates for this World’s smartest smart phone. We just hope that Samsung reads this and comes out with an official update soon. So, coming back to the point as promised we are here with an article over a period of which you will be able to apply this Gingerbread 2.3.6 in your Galaxy S2 GT I9100 phone.
Please note that this update is not yet Officially rolled out to the users in China over the KIES and also we don’t have any ETA on by when this update will be pushed. This Gingerbread 2.3.6 version is dubbed as the ZCKJ1. Since it’s a latest beta release there will be some plus points about this firmware and some bugs too which are minor ones. The same will be solved in the future release. The update procedure which we will be seeing is not through the KIES as we will be using the Odin flash tool to update the phone.
Advisory: Please note that this update is a Chinese based and will contain some apps which will be Chinese and also the phone’s language will completely be changed to Chinese. So, we request you to only proceed with this update if and only if you are comfortable or know the Chinese language.

its a chinese firmware, you need to install other firmware like xwki8
trying to run the update but it freezes after the following

Hi Neal, i bought S2 and there is a program on it named CWM after i opened it, it installed another program superuser. everytime i restarted my phone there is a yellow warning sign.

Neal, i tried several Z-starting firmware but all failed. Below r the firmware code i tried.
ZCKI2, ZHKH2, ZCKJ1, ZNKG5
all the firmware failed and stop at modem.bin. Why? However i do tried on XWKI8 and it was a success.
Same method, same pc. Bought the phone at united kingdom. I want a chinese firmware! Any solution for it?

I successfully installed all X-starting firmware but just cannot installed the Z-starting firmware listing above!
However, luckily, thanks God! i manage to install my Samsung Galaxy S2 by using this firmware, code-DXKI2.
This is a firmware origin frm singapore. So i guess it may gt Chinese inside!
And YES, it gt! So to whoever tat fail to install chinese version frm china, may try singapore version.
