The Samsung Galaxy S3 owners with AT&T subscription, who had patiently waited for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to be rolled out to their devices, finally would be seeing the update rolled out to their devices now although the International users are still kept on hold for this. Since yesterday the T-Mobile customers owning the Samsung Galaxy S3 were already seeing the update available, and today the AT&T ones are getting it and this would be followed by the various other carriers in the US very soon.
The build number being distributed by the company is I747UCUEMJB and the update is over 600MB in size. And it’s the Samsung-SGH-I747 device we are talking about and not the other variants. Once the update is done, you would see a lot of changes, a few of which are listed after the break.
The update includes:
- Samsung KNOX support
- Support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch
- Camera app improvements
- Touch-ups and improvements to the TouchWiz UI
Apart from these, the Galaxy S3’s update comes with a lot of under-the-hood changes. The update would be rolled out soon, and call yourself lucky if the notification pops up in your device already. Still, if you wanted to manually check for the update, you need to go to:
Settings > About > Software Update
This would connect to the servers and check for any updates available, and check for this build number once the update is done because sometimes you might have never opted for auto updates and the previous update might still be pending. There would be some complains from users who would curse Samsung for sending such huge updates, most of the space in which is taken up by the bloatware that Samsung includes.
International users, you need to wait and the update might be available for your devices any time soon and we would let you know that when it is rolling out officially.
