It could be a coincidence that two good Android smartphone brands have come up with similar devices at the same time, but that’s good for the buyers who were looking out for options for buying a neat budget Android smartphone. Samsung has just launched the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro, and Lenovo came up with the Lenovo A369i, both of which are a bit similar in quite a few aspects and the pricing too is no much different. Let’s see which is the better choice, based on the various specs and details.
Samsung Galaxy Star Pro vs Lenovo A369i Comparison
Screen, Display and Design
The screen size in both the devices is 4 inch, and they both have got the same 480 x 800 pixels of screen resolution. Design wise, Samsung’s Galaxy devices have always got the standard design in most of them, and you won’t see much difference from the earlier Galaxy devices but there’s nothing that good in the Lenovo’s A369i too. What you see is the Black and flat designed device with the curvy edges, but with the Galaxy Star Pro you have the color options of Black and White.
Internal Specs, Storage and Battery
With the given specs, one can easily say that the Lenovo’s A369i is more powered compared to the Galaxy Star Pro from Samsung. The former has got a 1.3 GHz Dual-core processor, while the latter ports a Cortex A5 single-core processor which clocks at 1 GHz speed. Both the devices have got the 512MB RAM for the multitasking support, but by the looks of it, the processor is better in the Lenovo’s budget device.
We aren’t sure about the internal user available storage provided in the devices after the system memory taken by them, but both the smartphones have 4GB of ROM and an expansion possible to 32GB with the MicroSD card support. Both the devices have got the Li-ion batteries with the 1500 mAh capacity.
Camera, Connectivity & OS
There is nothing much to compare with the camera, as both the devices have got a 2-megapixel lens with no flash, and no autofocus and the quality won’t be any much different although we have noticed Samsung cameras to be a little better in the capture quality. The connectivity options are again better in the Lenovo A369i because the Dual-SIM support doesn’t limit itself to the 2G, and you can enjoy the 3G data network connectivity, while the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro has got the 2G EDGE connectivity.
The OS version running the Galaxy Star Pro is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, while it’s the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS running in the Lenovo A369i device.
Pricing & Final Point
Both the smartphones are priced quite similar, as the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro is available for Rs. 6989 while the Lenovo A389i is priced at Rs. 6999 in the Indian market. With the price being the same, the selection depends on the aspects given above – Samsung Galaxy Star Pro looks better in terms of design and the camera could do some better capturing, but with the processor and Android version, it’s the Lenovo A369i which has got a better edge over it’s competitor.
