The South Korean electronics giant has officially announced the new Galaxy Tab 4 series that was expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2014 held earlier this year. The Galaxy Tab 4 series consists of three devices namely Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. These new tablets are thinner and lighter than the other series of Galaxy Tab and each of them have different screen sizes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0
First in the list is the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 comes out with a 7 inch display as the name suggests, with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This Tab is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. This tablet has a 3 MP camera at the rear and a 1.3 MP camera on the front and will be coming in 8 GB or 16 GB variants that will come with a micro SD card slot to increase the memory. This Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is the smallest of the three devices.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0
The second in the list is the Galaxy Tab 4 series is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. This Tablet has an 8 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Even this tablet has the same 1.2 GHz quad core processor as the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, coupled with the same 1.5 GB of RAM. Coming to the camera, there is a 3 megapixel rear facing shooter and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and will be coming with 16 GB of on-board storage that can be extended up to 64 GB via the micro SD card slot.
The Connectivity of the tablet includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and will be coming in Wi-Fi / 3G or LTE options. The device will be running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System and has a 4,450mAh battery on the back to power it. This Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has the dimensions of 124 x 210 x 7.95 mm and weighs 320 grams.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1
The last in the list and also the biggest is the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 with a 10.1 inch display, which has the same 1280 x 800 pixel resolution (bit disappointing) and is also powered with the same 1.2 GHz quad core processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. The cameras also remain the same as we have seen in the other two versions with 3 MP on the rear and a 1.3 MP front. The on-board memory of the device is at 16 GB that can be extended up to 64 GB via micro SD card slot. This tab will be running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has a 6,800 mAh battery on the back to power it. This tab has the measurements of 243.4 x 176.4 x 7.95 mm and weights 487 grams.
The pricing of these devices are not yet known but these Galaxy Tab 4 series devices will be available globally in Black and White variants from the second quadrant of this year. Stay tuned for more information and updates.
