The Mobile World Congress 2013 is very soon, but they haven’t stopped with the unveiling and announcements of the newer smartphones in the Galaxy range, and two of them include the Samsung Galaxy Young and the Samsung Galaxy Fame. The Samsung Galaxy Young is a 3.27-inch Android touchscreen that comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
The Galaxy Young with the 3.27-inch has a screen resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, and the phone is a Dual-SIM one having the Always On feature, where one can use the 3G Data network on one SIM card, and they can receive a call and talk on the phone through the other SIM card. Internally, the phone has got a 1GHz processor, supported by 786MB of RAM and there is 4GB of internal storage, while the device has got a MicroSD card slot for the expansion of storage, possible to 64GB.
This is an entry-level device coming with the basic features and specs, and the typical-Galaxy interface from Samsung and the connectivity options included in the Galaxy Young are 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS. The battery capacity is 1300 mAh, pretty fine for the small screen and the device is going to be available in several color options – White, Wine Red, Deep Blue, and Metallic Silver.
The interface has got a few additions to the normal interface where you get to see the Samsung Hub, Samsung Kies, TouchWiz, S Cloud and the ChatOn messenger from Samsung. There is also a Samsung Game Hub Lite which would allow to access games which are mainly optimized for these new smartphones. The phone would be available in both single SIM and the “Duos” Dual-SIM version, and that would be based on the regions where it is launching and being available.
There is no confirmation about the pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Young, but we expect to get a hands-on at the MWC 2013 event in Barcelona.
