Last time we saw on how you can easily apply the ICS Android 4.0 build in your Samsung Nexus S when there were hardly any functionalities working, but since it’s a new version of built, there are more number of functionalities which are working. Please note that this version of Ice Cream Sandwich is not an official release but the leaked version which is developed by some of the developers at XDA. Still the NFC functionalities etc. doesn’t work and this port will be arriving in the next update which will probably arrive in the late next month that is in December, 2011. This update comes at a time when there are rumors that the Nexus S phone will be getting the official Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Android version in the first quarter of 2012.

Quick Pre Requisistes:

- Up next, ensure that you have disabled all the firewall tools, PC Suites and Antivirus as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update. Enable the USB Debugging in your phone which can be done from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”.
Special Instructions to users on Custom ROM:
Just in case if you are on the custom ROMs then you need to ensure that from the recovery mode you disable all the additional tools like Voodoo etc. or else these tools may interrupt the firmware update process.
