Samsung SM-G900S Android Phone with Snapdragon 800 Processor, 2K Display appears on Benchmark

GFXBench has shown yet another Samsung device on their list, and this time it is a mysterious one, which has not been in any rumors for the specs it has got. The Samsung SM-G900S is something not much known right now, and it packs in some excellent details which even the company’s best Galaxy Note 3 doesn’t offer. There is going to be a 2k resolution, i.e. 2560 x 1440 pixels, and it’s the Snapdragon 800 processor which is said to clock the speeds of 2.5 GHz. There’s a Adreno 330 GPU and it’s probably going to be a MSM8974AC chipset powering it.

The benchmarking site even mentions that the device would run the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and that is it for now from that specs sheet, but this is quite a lot of info and one can easily expect this to be the next Galaxy, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S5 or even the next gen version of the Galaxy Round. It’s more probable that it could be the Galaxy Round 2 because the first one had the model number SM-G910S, but Samsung does play around quite a bit with the model numbers for the flagship devices, thus it shouldn’t be a surprise if we are already seeing some official details of the Galaxy S5 in this benchmark page.

Samsung won’t be able to showcase this as the first one with the Quad HD display, as LG has already announced a 5.5-inch display a few months back already, though none of these brands have officially launched and showcased it. Samsung has shared its roadmap and plans to use the 560ppi displays next year, and in 2015, they would be coming up with the smartphones having 4k resolutions. Too quick when we are yet to see a flurry of TVs having such resolutions. With that indication given by Samsung, this probably could be the Galaxy S5 with a 5.25-inch display which can make the pixel density to what Samsung planned, i.e. 560 ppi.

The Galaxy S5 with a 2k resolution would be excellent, but it would be too early to assume. What do you think, would that be a great smartphone with such high-end specs?
