Samsung Spica i5700 – Steps to Install Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS

Spica i5700In a bid to load every Android device with the latest, we will now see how you can taste the flavor of the latest Gingerbread 2.3 on your Samsung Spica i5700. Before proceeding to the updating process make sure that you have backed all your information including contacts, messages and also the applications. As there is a high probability that you may lose all the information, which is loaded in your Android device. Also, note that this version of Android 2.3 is not the official version of the device as this is the custom ROM which is developed by the third party developers and also some minute functionalities might not run properly as this is still in the beta version, but you can try this for your Spica.

So, it’s highly advisable that you read every single instruction carefully before proceeding to flash your device. If you don’t follow the below process carefully or update the below procedure for any other device apart from Spica i5700 then this will brick your device or may make your device unusable. So, let’s proceed for the procedure.

Procedure to update Samsung Spica i5700:

  • Next up, after downloading this file on your computer, you need to copy this downloaded file into your Android device’s SD Card by connecting your device to the computer via USB cable and please note that you should not extract the downloaded file.
  • Next, after that, you need to turn off your Spica and need to start your Spica in the recovery mode. You can turn on your device in the recovery mode by pressing the VOLUME DOWN key, CALL button and End call button together while you device is in the power off mode till your device boots in the Recovery mode.
  • As soon as the recovery mode is shown on the screen, you need to select Apply ZIP from SD Card and need to Wipe Data and Cache for flashing the CM7 Android 2.3 build on your Samsung Spica i5700.

It will take few seconds to apply the update for your device, after completion of the update you can see that your Samsung Spica i5700 is running on the latest Android 2.3 GINGERBREAD version.

    i downloaded the CM-7.0.0 and when i press and hold down volume, call hey and end key, it doesnt take me to recovery mode.. it just boots up as normal.

      you should root your spica to boot into recovery mode just google how to root 🙂

    For the life of me I cannot get i5700 Europe in recovery mode. I tried everything but no luck. Any suggestion??

    How much time it takes? I`m after 1`st reboot and see animated cyanogen logo since 5-10 minutes.

      It doesn`t work with my Spica. My device can`t start with this mod, but all works fine with CM 6.1.1

    witch/what version of ROM and CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY to be install before i proceed to this process to update may 2.1 to 2.3Gingerbread?

      you can install any version of Clock Work Mod!

    I have a problem when I go into recovery mode can not be to select Apply from ZIP SD Card no Wipe Data and Cache and. Anything I can to select the recovery mode. Please Help.

      @Ljubinkovic you are currently on which version? installed ROM MANAGER? or CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY?
