Sony Mobile has started updating Xperia U Android smart phone with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system. This update corresponds to version number 6.0.B.3.184. This update brings the generic firmware for your device and its officially announced by Sony Mobiles.

So that means that updates are finally available for international version of Xperia U handset. One thing we would like to tell you that users first would be sad to learn that there is no update to Android 4.0 for this device as promised during the launch and the user adjusted with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on the device.
So if you have a Xperia U handset along with you, then you need to take out your smart phone head to menu, Settings and then tap on Software Update and finally hit to Check Now under Update option. Now follow the on screen instructions to install the update available for your phone and once the updates are downloaded and applied to your PC then your smart phone will be automatically restarted and you will see the Android 2.3.7 version on your device. To check for the Android version included in your smart phone after the update then you need to head to About Phone under the Settings and it will display the built number, Android version, base band version, kernel version and model number.
