Unlike HTC, Sony isn’t ignoring the mid-range smartphone market at all, because after the Xperia M and L last year, the first one this year is going to be the Sony Xperia G. Just a month ago, Sony had announced the Xperia Z1 Compact which was not really a budget phone because it was power packed by some excellent specs with just a shrink in the size of the display from the Xperia Z1.
It is unclear whether the Xperia G would be the Sony D5103 which is rumored to have a 720p display and some mid-range specs including the Snapdragon 400 SoC, Android KitKat and nothing exceptional with the camera, but Sony for sure is going to focus on the mid-range and budget Android devices for this year’s MWC 2014 event.
@vizileaks, yet another from the list of people on Twitter who keep sharing the inside updates and leaks, has posted a picture of the unseen Xperia device, which they named the Sony Xperia G.
Having a similar design and size to that of the Xperia Z1 Compact, we feel this should be having a 4.3-inch screen, or could be even smaller if the bezel size does some adjustments. From a round of comments on the web, we learn there are chances that this could be even bigger than the Z1 Compact, and the name Xperia G is something to compete the current hot Moto G smartphone from Motorola.
The Moto G with the 4.5-inch display has been the recent best and highly sold especially for the pricing, and Sony might be considering MWC as the right time to bring this device into the scene, as there is no perfect competitor to the Moto G right now. Check out later for more details when we get to know more via leaks or when Sony makes this device official.
