Sony Xperia Ion Announced – Specs & Photos

The discontinued friendship of Ericsson from Sony has quickly resulted in Sony steps to come stronger in Android market. Also at Consumer Electronics Show 2012 being held at Las Vegas was the right place for them to come up with their first ever Sony branded smartphones. Along with the launch of Sony Xperia S, Sony also announced the Xperia Ion which is the first LTE smartphone from the makers of Sony.

Xperia Ion AT&T

The Xperia Ion will be available exclusively in United States from AT & T in second quarter. It will be with 4.6 inches HD reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine with HD resolution at 1280 x 720. The power of dual core processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz will provide faster browsing and content download with no worry in the internal memory as it stands at 16 GB flash storage. Xperia Ion will be with Android 2.3 Gingebread OS.

The Xperia Ion will include 12 mega pixel rear camera with Sony Exmor R which provides fast capturing of photos within 1.5 seconds from standby mode. The camera also adds LED flash and auto focus along with that the video recording at 1080p will provide the utmost clarity videos. The phone will provide sharing of content via DLNA, HDMI and Bravia Sync to easily stream content on other screens.

Xperia Ion will also deliver the richest world class entertainment experience with Sony Entertainment Network providing music unlimited offers 12 million of unique songs with video unlimited download and TV shows from all the major studios.  It’s also PlayStation certified providing high quality of gaming experience on mobile.
