Sony Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Live with Walkman receives Android 4.0 ICS update

Sony after this discontinued relationship with Ericsson looks like its lucky charm turning the fortunes in their favor. After a dream run for Sony at Mobile World Congress announcing several of the Xperia devices, its time for the Sony devices as scheduled to be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.ICS Upgrade Sony devices
Its not too long that ICS update to Tablet S arrived in the US market last week along with the upgrade to Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray. The good news is that Sony has also started sending Android 4.0 ICS update to Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Live with Walkman slowly in batches in various countries and if you posses any of these smartphones then please check for the same at your end. These upgrade are made available via the PC companion and the Bridge for MAC PC owner and they are available for download at Sony’s official site.

Going through the features and improvements included in the update are the overall user interface and brings in the new features like data usage details and Android beam. So overall Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V, Xperia Ray, Tablet S, Sony Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Live with Walkman devices are available for upgrade to the latest and the good looking Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. If you own any of these devices mentioned here then you can upgrade your devices and remaining devices which are eligible for ICS upgrade will soon get ICS update as well.

    My Sony Ericsson Mini Pro shows android version of 2.3.4
    I tried for software update and message shows that ‘ You have the latest software and applications….. etc…’. It’s not getting Updated …….having same problem like Baiju….
    Last week i updated my phone with the latest software from this site & it updated to 2.3.4 only….now it says it is up to date……plz help me friends…

    Hello all,

    I own Sony Ericsson Walkman W8, with the below details in the “About Phone”

    Model number: E16i
    Firmware Version: 2.1-update 1
    Kernel version: 2.6.29
    is it possible for me to install ICS on this, if so, can anyone guide me with the files and procedures to do it on my own.

      yes you can install it, just check with PC COMPANION TOOL

    i have a sony ericsson xperia mini android 2.3.4 and i want to update it but when i try to do this it shows that i have the latest software…. whats wrong??? HELP

        Thanks to all..Finally today my phone got upgraded to version 4.1.B.0.431 by using PC companion. Feels happy to see all new Look. GREAT !!
