The CES 2012 is over and it has ended with more than 50 smartphones and tablets launched along with big announcement news of what it has showed the Galaxy S III phone but not officially more often in indirect way. Toshiba at Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas showcased the proto type of an Android tablet which has both the capabilities of waterproof and wireless charging.
Toshiba showcased this tablet by putting it in aquarium and also hinted that this might be the upcoming Regza tablet. Coming to the specifications of the tablet it has 10.1 inches LCD display and will sport many other top high end features. Until quarter 3 of 2012 we might not see this tablet releasing in the market and so it’s pretty clear that it will be powered with tegra 3 or may be quad core processors and the I am pretty sure that it will be using the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich overlay which will get common to most of the top end smartphones and tablets.
For wireless power transmissions, Toshiba representative said that it uses the magnetic resonance method for charging the tablet which has long range of transmissions. Though its unclear how much will be the efficiency of the power transmissions but we are sure that it will not be high and with that it’s clear that Toshiba has removed the commonly used lithium ion (Li-ion) rechargeable battery from tablets and directly power it. Is it a new evolution in tablet technology?
We might be hearing more for the Toshiba waterproof tablet in the coming days and more news will splash in the Mobile World Congress event which will be held at Barcelona, Spain in the last week of February.
