How to Update Asus Transformer TF300T with Cyanogen MOD 9 ICS 4.0.4 Firmware

Please note that once you apply this update, the device will be rooted and once it’s rooted, the warranty will get void. Please note that this is not an Official update which is released by ASUS. This update ropes in the goodness of ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware version.

So, let’s get started with a detailed tutorial which will help you to update your Asus transformer T300 with the latest Cyanogen Mod 9 firmware update.

Procedure to Update Asus Transformer TF300T with Cyanogen mod 9 Firmware:

  • First up, you need to Root & install Clock Work mod recovery image in your Asus Transformer TF300T device. Once you are done with this, download Cyanogen mod 9 Firmware package & Google Apps from here to your computer.
  • Disconnect the tablet and turn off the same so as to enter the device in the recovery mode. Hold Volume Down button + Power button to enter the device in the recovery mode till you see the message “Press Volume Up to enter RCK (5s)”. Once it’s done, you now need to press Volume Down once to highlight the USB icon, then press the Volume Up button to confirm the same.
  • Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the “Cyanogen mod 9 custom ROM Firmware” which is placed in the phone and then followed by which you will have to select the Google Apps package . As soon as the file is selected, it will take around 5 – 7 minutes for applying this update
  • Once it’s updated, the device will either be landed in the recovery screen or it will be rebooted automatically. If the device boots in the recovery screen, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system.

Note:  Just in case if the device booted up or gets into the boot loop mode then you need to re follow the above mentioned steps with the help of above mentioned instructions. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
