How to Update Galaxy ACE S5830 with Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 XWKTM Firmware
It’s been quite a while that Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 users didn’t get an all new upgrade version of Gingerbread 2.3.6. So, in the due course of this article we will be checking out on how you can install the latest firmware version of XWKTM which is officially released for the Spain users by Samsung Electronics. Since this one is a boot loader free update, one can easily update the device with the help of this update manually. Unfortunately, Samsung won’t be coming out with an Official ICS Android 4.0 firmware update for Galaxy ACE.

Also, it’s recommended that all the target backup files should be copied to your desktop so that if your phone gets completely formatted, then too you can restore the data easily.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
KIES Mode in your device should be enabled from the path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings > Samsung KIES”. Apart from this, you also need to enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”
Uninstall or Disable all the security suites installed in your computer & Phone as these tools interrupt the firmware update process.

I am Virgin Mobile Canada Network. I successfully did the upgrade, but when I try to use the phone, I get a message “mobile network not available”. The signal shows all bars and I was also able to register to the VIRGIN network. Did I miss anything?

hi i updated my ace with this and all was fine for 24hrs looking good then wifi started to drop out then play store went then facebook then twitter then whats app all vanished so gone back to ddkq8 no probs with that any ideas what happened???

i had kies installed for latest phone drivers and i tried it after uninstalling kies but still the same problem.plz help me

after using an update from before from this site (galaxy ace official gingerbread update 2.3.4) I can’t connect to my pc anymore. it says it is an unkown device and can’t connect. i have tried rebooting it, reseting it and deleting the cache but nothing works.

Bro i did everything as explained. but after rebooting it gives an error message saying “The application setup Wizard (process com.sec.android.ugl) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.” And when i try to re perform the process odin stops giving the message “cannot open the usb serial port. code: 5″

My phone was running 2.2.1 Froyo. I tried to upgrade it to 2.3.6 using process mentioned here.
The Odin completed successfully and restarted the phone. But the phone was running spanish language. I was getting an alert after every 3-4 seconds. But i could not read it as it was spanish. I restarted the phone and it went in boot loop. The phone keeps rebooting every 2 seconds.
I can’t get into recovery mode but I can get to download mode.
I have tried flashing many ROMs from sammobile.com but none of them is working. It stays in boot loop

Downloaded and upgraded. But facing the error “The startup wizard(process com.sec.android.ugl) stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.”
No matter how many times I restart or do anything, I am not getting the desktop of my Galaxy Ace. Just a dark screen as desktop. Can’t even enter Settings to check whether the upgrade has been successful or not.
Wanna go back to 2.3.4
Any help would be appreciated.
