How to Update Galaxy ACE S5830 with Gingerbread XWKPY 2.3.6 Firmware
Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 users can now rejoice as an all new firmware has hit the servers of Samsung and in the due course of this article we will be checking out on how one can install the same. Please note that this is the Stock firmware and not the custom ROM firmware. As of now there is no exact time frame on by when this update will be made available via OTA or via KIES but as in when it arrives, we will surely update with the same. Pre Update Instructions:
- In the process of firmware update process, there is a possibility that the data may get lost or corrupted. So to safeguard the data you need to back up the same with the help of below mentioned steps.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,

Enable the USB debugging in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked. USB Debugging Mode can only be enabled once you disconnect the phone from computer. USB Debugging should be ticked.

Lockscreen is like the older versions, it reads 2.3.3!!!!! But the bouncy overscroll feels good..overall feels faster smoother for now.
My ace has DDKQ8 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware,what is the difference between this one and the above stated one,can i apply this update,thanks

I again switched to 2.3.6…..BUT the older (the 2.3.3) is faster…what is this all about!!???why is 2.3.6 slower..????!!!!…i was using cyanogen7.2 before this..much faster!!!

this firmware is not 2.3.6 but it’s 2.3.3
I find this website very useful but you guys should check what you post before posting it, this is a downgrade to 2.3.3 not 2.3.6, keep doing the good work, but please, research before upload an article or a firmware.

I had upgraded my Ace S5830 with the previous upgrade Gingerbread XXKPH 2.3.4 hence it seems I was unable to upgrade my ACE to the latest Gingerbread 2.3.6 XWKPY. Is there any way I can upgrade my Ace to the current firmware. The first ODIN window turned RED and displayed Fail. My Ace would not work, so I had to upgrade it back to my previous version in Russian and then back in English. Is there something I did wrong or thats the way it is ??? Thanks for ur HELP

So… My ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow! I tried Installing the USB Drivers in my computer & Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network” (assumed on phone), but I couldn’t find: “USB Settings” in otrder to ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer. So, when I click STAR on ODIN, the message
lease connect phones !!” appears. HEEELP!!!!
