How to Update Galaxy ACE S5830i with Official India DDLD2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware

Galaxy ACE LogoHello to Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830i users of India, an all-new firmware update has arrived which is dubbed as DDLD2 which ropes in the Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware version. We recommend you to bookmark this article as it’s an Official update which we are going to discuss and also just in case tomorrow if you update with any other custom ROM firmware, this article will help you to revert back to the factory firmware in Galaxy ACE S5830i devices. This update is also being pushed via OTA and also via KIES. Since some of the users reported that after applying via OTA the phone was not booting up, we have come up with a manual way with which you can apply this update.

Caution: This update should be strictly applied to the devices which are having the model number as ACE S5830i and is not for S5830 model. If you still continue to update in your S5830 model, then we should not be held responsible for any damage happened.

Essential Pre Requisites:

  • You can either back up all your user level data with the help of KIES or manually with the help of below mentioned steps. We recommend you to back up the data using the below mentioned steps as the local data will be there with you which you can access at any point of time.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
  • Disable all the security suites installed in your computer and uninstall all antivirus tools in your computer so as to ensure that the firmware update is not interrupted in the middle of the process.
  • Enable the USB Debugging in your Galaxy ACE S5830i from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked.

    If Odin gets stuck at “Setup Connection…”, it’s because the USB port being used is not USB 2.0 capable. Try another port, or even another PC. I’m sure this is the solution. I had this problem and thought my PC’s USB ports were 2.0, but they’re not… tried in another PC and voilà!
