Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
  • Disable all the antivirus suites in your computer and uninstall the same in your device as these tools generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

So i tried this update, and just as Charles, after the “Samsung” screen, it goes blank and stays that way. I tried to clear the cache/factory reset but it still doesn’t work. I’m using the Clockworkmod bootloader and my device is rooted.

Spent hours finding a way to update then realized that my phone’s os was still froyo 2.2. Update your android OS to Gingerbread 2.3 first guys.

Make sure you have rooted your phone. In case you have already done, try following steps:
*-clear cache before and after installation
*-reset to factory defaults, before and after installation

      that worked for me.
